Our meeting on October 16th was brought to us by "home grown talent" consisting of our own members Ed Bardwell, Robert Cerga and Jim Frankiewicz on the topic of trends in digital technology. Your reporter must confess that I thought Ed was talking about me when he told the story about  the grandfather and his 5 year old grandson with an I-pad.

Ed urged us not to be afraid to use technology. Indeed confident or fearful the digital age is here to stay and the power and means of connecting with others expands exponentially. In the near term 5G power will provide instant communication and access to information. By 2030 it is forecast that 50 billion devices will be in the hands of humanity. Moreover, the devices will be becoming more and more portable for data transmission and conversations making even laptop computers a thing of the past.

Robert and Jim discussed the ways in which communication technology can work to build better relationships, including closer contact with our fellow members of the Rotary Club of Dallas. As Jim related, stay tune for further details to follow.
