Soccer is amazingly popular in North Texas as evidenced by school teams and club teams at every level. Dan reported that FC Dallas has over 30 home grown players under contract with FC Dallas. The facilities at the Toyota Sports Complex, home of the team, are second to none  and Frisco is now the home of the US Soccer Hall of Fame which he proudly noted includes both men and women stars as well as the Women's World Soccer Championship trophies.

Looking forward Hunt and FC Dallas are seeking to bring the World Cup series to North Texas in 2026. Previously Dallas hosted part of that competition in 1996. He was quick to point out the huge financial impact such an event would have on our regional economy. Knowing the history of the Hunt family in professional sports including Dan's father ,Lamar-founder of the Kansas City Chiefs and a member of the NFL Hall of Fame- the odds on getting the World Cup are quite favorable.
