RCD/Safer Dallas volunteering to support Dallas Police Department Northeast NPO Unit at the Annual Health and Safety Fair. RCD will be providing much needed coats for kids in all sizes for both boys & girls. In addition to providing coats, they have requested volunteers to help with this well attended event (approx 5000 people). Due to the crowd, volunteers need to show up around 8:30am. |

Annual Christmas Pops Concert hosted by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Choir in the Meyerson Symphony Hall. The concert starts at 7:30 pm. Beforehand, the Opus Restaurant will open at 5:30 pm. Our members will be able to reserve Opus seating along with concert tickets. The Dallas Rotary group price is $45 per seat, and seating will be Orchestra Floor Right Side. |

Come out and help DPD "Celebrate with Community Spirit"! Volunteers will help shuffle kids through activities and pick out toys and serve hot chocolate and help police serve hot dogs. Arrive no later than 10:30 to park in lot which will be guarded by police officer. North west corner of forest and Audelia. Police officers will be there with their kids handing out toys and volunteering. Meet near the Aldi Food store. |

Service project supporting White Rock Center of Hope to help cultivate hope by sorting, stocking, and otherwise organizing donations. Each year White Rock Center of Hope distributes over 450,000 pounds of food and sells or distributes at no cost to those in need more than 80,000 articles of clothing. Your will help process a porton of these items.

UFO's, the Military & the Media
Today, the topic of UFOs (or UAPs as they are now being called) have captured the interest of the media, of Congress, of academia, of NASA, and of course the military. But why? What is it about this subject that has been in the public discourse for some 75 years that caused such a resurgence in today's culture? Maybe at least a partial answer can be found in the context and history of the phenomena which will be discussed in this program.

The Rotary Club of Dallas, in partnership with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, and Dallas Fire & Rescue, will hold the 20th Annual Bike Rodeo and Child Safety Day as an educational and entertaining morning on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10am – 1pm. The event will be held at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. The Bike Rodeo safety course will provide a safe environment for children to practice bicycle safety skills by riding on a course designed to simulate actual road conditions. The activities will help children become more aware of bicycle safety issues, while also teaching parents the importance of ensuring that children always use the safety equipment. Children will have the opportunity to explore a Dallas Fire and Rescue truck, meet the official Dallas Fire Department mascot, Sparky the Dog and take the “Safety Day Pledge.’ Children will be able to learn about fire safety through the Mobile Safety House. Children will be able to get their bikes inspected, and all children who participate in the Bike Rodeo safety course will receive a complimentary bike helmet safety course and a raffle ticket to enter to win a new bike of their choice. Over 40 new bikes of all sizes are planned to be given away. To ensure that these kids and their families stay to take advantage of all these benefits food and drinks will be available at no charge.

Rotary Club of Dallas will be sponsoring their 2nd annual Book Fair! One of our club's initiatives is Literacy! President Rachael has elected Thurgood Marshall Scholastic Book Fair as the 2022-23 Literacy Project! This project will the week of April 17th. We will have various shifts available Monday-Friday. Please check out the Volunteer registration to see if you can volunteer to help kids pick out books. This is such a fun project watching the excitement in these kids pick out "free to them" books. Since this event is held at a school located in Dallas but within the Richardson ISD District, you will need to complete a quick and easy background check.
