The Dream Team Commitment
Being a part of the Dream Team mentoring program is a serious commitment for students and their Rotarian mentors alike. Selection for the program is competitive and is based on an application, recommendations, interviews, and financial need. Students enter the program in their sophomore year and are partnered with two mentors for a seven-year commitment— through high school, college, and beyond. To remain in the Dream Team, students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average, attend regular mentoring sessions, and participate in community service projects. Dream Team mentors meet at least twice a month with their students. The first Thursday of each month is a program on a variety of topics ranging from college application to resisting peer pressure. Rotarians and their students also meet informally other times during the month for recreational or educational activities. The Reward
The goal for each student is to graduate from high school and attend college on a scholarship. The Rotary Club of Dallas awards significant scholarships to students in each graduating class, and throughout college. Mentors also work with their students to help them seek and win scholarships from other sources. How Can You Help?
The Rotary Club of Dallas Dream Team needs your help to continue providing college scholarships. Rotarian Mentors give their resources of time and compassion to mentor students. Others can participate in the goals and success of the Dream Team through financial commitments and donations. Your donation will help make certain that every Dream Team student accepted to college will have the opportunity to attend regardless of their family's financial situation. You can partner with The Rotary Club of Dallas, The Dream Team Rotarian Mentors and their students. Join us as we mentor our scholars, enable their achievement and make dreams come true.

Mentoring the Leaders of Tomorrow
“The Mentors of the Rotary Club of Dallas have made a positive difference for many of my students at Woodrow Wilson High School. Without their help, many of our students would have never had the opportunity to attend college.” -Ruth Vail, Principal Woodrow Wilson “It has been very exciting to watch the effect the mentoring program has had on many of my students. Students blossom from passive to vibrant leaders who actively seek learning opportunities. Thank you Rotarians!.” ~Peter Evett, Teacher |
