What is a Rotarian?A Rotarian is a person who…Digs wells from which they will never drink; Vaccinates children they will never meet; Restores eyesight for those they will never see; Builds housing they will never live in; Educates children they will never know; Plants trees they will never sit under; Gives mobility and freedom to many halfway around the world; Knows real happiness that, as Albert Einstein said, “Can only be found by helping others.”A Rotarian belongs to a World Wide Organization celebrating over 102 years of service. Rotary is the world’s first service club organization. It's more than 1.2 million members of business, professional and community leaders united word-wide, conducts humanitarian projects, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. There are over 32,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, non religious and open to all cultures, races and creeds. As signified by the motto “Service Above Self”, Rotarians main objective is service - in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world.
