September 8-11, 2011 APPLY NOW Camp Enterprise is an intensive three day seminar on business for a select group of high school seniors. Each Fall, Dallas area students interact with business executives, politicians and government representatives. Participating students explore fundamental challenges, opportunities and obligations of the Free Enterprise System. Camp Enterprise program attracts guest speakers that are high-ranking executives from large businesses as well as small business owners from our area as well as motivational speakers. Topics for discussion are current and may include management and employee relations, government regulations, starting your own business, major problems facing the free enterprise system, minimum wage laws and the approaches of business and government to social problems. Camp Enterprise is held in a true camp setting designed to develop friendships and the free exchange of ideas. The students are segmented into teams and develop a business logo and presentation, and work as a team, and allowing each team member to lead an effort, throughout the duration of the camp. The program also provides each team the opportunity and responsibility of management decision making via our Camp Enterprise computer game. They begin to learn about the elasticity of our economy; supply vs. demand, inventory levels, publicity, forecasting, budgeting, as well as setting product pricing. The teams are provided with tips for each round of the game and may be provided with an economy downturn. From this they learn that every facet of the Camp Enterprise is held in a true camp setting designed to develop friendships and the free exchange of ideas.
